Hi I’m Sam. My mission is to keep your clothes looking great for longer therefore preventing them going to landfill. The fashion industry’s devasting effects on our environment led me to set up my clothes mending business so that I can help others to retain a more sustainable wardrobe.
The Sewing Loft
Located in Chesham, Bucks, I have a dedicated sewing space in my converted loft. It’s the perfect place for me to work & I look forward to showing you my little slice of heaven if you come over for an alteration.
Meet Edna & Jean
My fashion brand is very close to my heart as it is named after my lovely grannies, Edna England & Jean Guichenet. They were both excellent at dressmaking, quilting, knitting and crochet. I have fond memories of crafting with them and they would have loved the make do & mend element to my business. The sewing machine I use was my granny Jean’s machine!
Edna & Jean grew from my interest in sustainable fashion. Initially I started creating bespoke children’s dresses made from preloved shirts. Tote bags and other accessories such as dog bandanas, coin purses, scrunchies & headbands soon followed.
